It is so very sad to make you
all aware of the passing of carpet bowls very own Rita Daniels
on Monday last. Wonderful, exuberant, delightful, full of life,
laughing, cajoling (when selling many thousands of raffle tickets),
organiser, doer, great supporter of the fashion industry and
a terrific supporter of carpet bowls – she had it all, she
was it all. We will miss Rita greatly, indeed, she is irreplaceable.

As many of you will already
know Rita was diagnosed with cancer in October and we are sorry
to say that she passed away on Monday 18th February at St Elizabeth
Hospice where she had spent the last few weeks.
Thankfully she was in no pain
and had been asleep for the last few days and so went peacefully.
We would like to thank everyone
for all the kind cards and messages we have received over the
last few days and while Rita was ill.
The funeral was held at Seven
Hills Crematorium on Tuesday 26th February.
We would ask you not to send
flowers, but instead to please make a donation to St
Elizabeth Hospice who we cannot thank enough for the
incredible support they have given to both Rita and the family.
