Day
A big thank you to those who
took part in Finals Day. The Committee hope you all enjoyed the
day.
Skyliner Road Sports Centre
was the chosen venue for the third year running. Although the
Centre does have it’s draw backs (no refreshments) it does
have several advantages, easy parking, room for the 12 Carpets
a very helpful staff and at a competitive price. We managed to
secure the use of an addition room for a large part of the day,
where teas and coffee were available and competitors could enjoy
their packed lunch away from the main hall.
The Committee will always be
open to alternative venues, so any suggestions, please bring
them to the AGM on the 11 July at Thurston Community Centre.

Congratulations to Brockley
who as well as winning the Premier League added the Knock Out
Cup to their long list of Trophies, overcoming Hundon 8 - 2 on
the day. They really are becoming the team to beat and setting
standards of consistency we should all be aiming for.
Barrow beat Tostock 7 - 3 so
they are awarded the Victor Trophy with Tostock the Divisional
Cup.
Thanks to everyone who helped
on the day, all Committee Members to those who gave up their
time on Saturday Evening to help with carpets, to Withersfield
who made an early start on Sunday for bringing their two carpets
and helped raise funds, with name the place and a special thanks
to Lin Cooke for the photocopying.
To Steve for the scoring together
with June, Sue and Shelia for looking after the draw.
All those clubs who brought
Carpets: Thurston 2, Cockfield 3, Stanningfield 2, Withersfield
2, Gt Whelnetham 2, Tostock 1 and Brockley 1.
Thanks to Cockfield (Colin
& Vic) who brought 3 mats (one for the Target Bowls) perhaps
we shall have to look at that Competition next year. And to you
all for attending and supplying raffle prizes.
